Hey bud, welcome to captioning! I don't think I'm the best at advice and all, but my best advice is to just do what makes you excited to caption, you know? Do the things you never see others doing. Write the way you wished people would write.
A lot of this can get pretty thankless in the end, so as long as you're doing something you're happy with, it'll probably end up getting other similar-thinking people around you. And the best part about it will be that you enjoy what you're making too!
